Gorgeous Gingerbread Men!

During the winter months I love eating gingerbread. And lately I have been loving baking my own. These soft and chewy gingerbread gets the thumbs up of approval from all of my family. They are also super easy to make!

Prep: 20 minutes                          Cook: 10 minutes

Ingredients
125g softened butter
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup golden syrup
1 egg
2 1/2 cups of plain flour
1 tbsp of powdered ginger
1 tsp mixed spice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Method
1) Preheat oven to 180 (160 fan-forced)
2) Cream butter and brown sugar together
3) Add the egg and golden syrup and mix until combined
4) Add in everything else and mix together. (it might look a bit crumbly but don't worry!)
5) roll the dough out and cut into your desired shapes. (I used a teddy  bear cutter because I didn't have any men.)
6) Move the cut shapes onto a baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes
7) Once baked, let them cool for 10 minutes. You could also decorate them how you like but I decided just to leave them plain)
5) Enjoy!

Let me know if any of you try these. Also, send me your pictures to my twitter!

4 Beauty Life Hacks!

Welcome back to my blog! First of all, sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but I have been ill.

I  have chose 4 different beauty life hacks to help you have the best 2016 ever!

1) Use Witch Hazel Gel!
Witch Hazel is a wonder product that helps to clear the skin. Whenever I have a spot or blemish this is the first thing I will reach for. Best of all, it's super inexpensive! I have also found that it works better than most expensive products.

2) Create shiny lips from a matte lipstick!
Do you have that one lipstick that you really wish wasn't so drying and matte? If so, then just apply a glossy lip balm before using your lipstick and there you have it. Shiny Lip Galore!

 3) Use Baby Oil!
That's right! Baby Oil isn't just for babies. Baby Oil is a super cheap alternative to pricey moisturizers and leaves skin as soft as a baby's bum. It is also great for if you are in a rush. Just spritz and go!

4) Make perfume last longer!
My final hack is to apply a lip balm (or the baby oil) to the spot where you are going to spray your perfume. The oil helps to make the perfume stick onto you for even longer. No need to carry your scent around with you all day!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Comment down below your favourite beauty hacks! And why not follow this blog whilst you're at it?

My New Year Resolutions!

New Year resolutions is a tradition that I like to upkeep every year. Whether or not I actually stick to them is a different story. However, I am pretty proud of myself for sticking to one of my resolutions from last year, which was to drink more water.  So without further-ado, here are my New Year Resolutions!

1) Stop procrastinating!  Do you ever find yourself binge watching Netflix when you should really be doing that pile of homework in your bag. If so, then we are definitely in the same boat. This year I want to be able to get everything done that I need so that I can then sit back and relax.

2) Be healthier! Yes we have all heard this one before. However this year I really want to try. To try and be healthier I will try to; exercise more, drink more water and just generally eat healthier.

3) Care less about what other people think! It's no lie that I care wayyy to much about what others may think about me. I often find myself wanting to crawl under a rock and hide where no one can judge me. But the reality is, thats just not possible. So instead of hiding myself away, I'm just going to think to myself 'What others think does not matter, as long as you're happy you are okay!'

4) Love myself more! This one kind of ties in with the last one. Instead of constantly feeling harshly about myself I want to be able to look in the mirror and love what I see. Being critical of yourself is just as bad as others thinking badly of you. You need to love your body and your mind and just enjoy life! This is you. There is no point in trying to change yourself because you are beautiful. And just remember... No one is perfect! Not even Beyonce.

So I hoped you enjoyed reading my resolutions. Let me know in the comments what yours are. Who knows, we might even be able to help each other out!

My New Years Day Makeup!

For perfectionists like myself I can spend hours searching for the perfect makeup look. Even if i'm just having a cosy day in with my family. Theres just something so special about doing your makeup on special occasions.
New Years day is the perfect time to show of your makeup skills! It's almost like your pass for it being acceptable to get glammed up for staying in. Meaning that this look is perfect for parties or general everyday wear.

Also, trying to do a makeup look whilst staying anonymous is near impossible! So sorry for that bad quality and not very clear pictures.

After prepping my face (cleansing, toning and moisturising) I apply collection lasting perfection concealer under my eyes and on any spots or blemish's I may have.

After blending that in with my ring finger, I set it with my anew powder. This helps to make it last longer and removes any un-wanted shine.

Next, I move on with contouring, highlighting and applying blush using my Tanya Burr cosmetics Rosy Flush cheek palette. I love using this because it really helps to add a naturally healthy glow to your face.

Its now time for brows! I lightly fill mine in with Number 2 in my W7 brow bar. I do this lightly because I prefer a more natural look with my eyebrows.

Moving onto eyes! I start by going all other my lid up to my crease with the colour Dust from my w7 In The Buff palette. It is a really pretty rose gold colour and looks stunning on the eyes.

I then sweep the colour Wave through my crease. I the create a V like shape from my crease to the end of my outer lash line.

Once I have finished blending the two colours together, using a small angled brush a line my top lash line with the colour Onyx.

I also waterline my eye with a brown eye pencil. (It doesn't say what company it's from as I got it out of a advent calendar but I really like it.)

Next, I curl my eyelashes using a eyelash curler. And then it's time for my favourite part... MASCARA! If there was one makeup item I couldn't live without, it would be mascara. Today I am using Clinique's high impact mascara.

To finish off I am using Tanya Burrs lip gloss in Lets Travel The World.

Here is the finished look! Again i'm really sorry that its not very clear and you cant see the full look altogether but I just don't want to show my full face. Sorry :(

I hope you liked my first ever tutorial. Happy New Year! Let's hope 2016 brings lots of amazing and great things to us.

About Me!

Hello! I would like to welcome you to my little corner of the internet. So make yourself at home and enjoy the ride!
My name is Kelly (a.k.a BeautybyKK). I'm 13 years old. Yes 13. I have wanted to write a blog ever since stumbling upon blogs such as Zoella and Lily Pebbles a few years back. I guess I have finally put my plan into action.

I have always been a fan of people expressing their own opinions and views about certain topics. Despite this, I still fail miserably at doing this in real life. So what better way than a blog?
This blogs allows me to think about my words before putting them out there. Consequentially giving me more confidence to express myself. Because I believe everybody should have the chance to make their voices known. Okay more like m y words, but you get what I mean.

I enjoy talk about beauty, fashion and lifestyle topics and I hope you enjoy reading them too. So buckle up and enjoy the journey!

Why I'm choosing to be anonymous... (for now)

Hello again! Some of you may of noticed that I have not revealed my identity either on here or on any of my social media networking sites. But Why? You may be wondering.
The internet can be a scary place for insecure people such as myself, for start. Especially someone of my age. No that doesn't mean i'm a 280 year old dinosaur. It just means that I don't feel ready to be putting myself and my face out there. That includes not telling my friends and family yet, because I feel like they won't take me seriously yet. That doesn't mean never however! On here I am going to be as honest as I possibly can. Probably more honest than in real life. And that means eventually revealing my identity. (that makes me sound like some kind of evil mastermind with a huge secret.) Sometime, in the near future (probably when I have a larger following) I will let you know who I really am. But, until then, i'm beautybyKK.

Sorry that it is a short post. I just wanted to tell any of you who were unsure why I wasn't showing my face. I hope you all understand. :)

My 2015 Beauty Favorites!

First of all hello and welcome to my new blog! I hope you decide to stick around and follow me on this adventure through the internet. I must admit that I am a bit of  a internet noob. But that is okay as I will learn as I go along.

So on with the actual post. 2015 has been a great year for beauty products old and new. And since 2016 is nearly upon us, I thought it would be the perfect time to remember the products that I loved most through out the year.
My first products are from the Zoella Beauty range. Although I love and use pretty much all of her products I have choose a few to talk to you about. The first product is the 'Lets Sprtitz!' fragranced body mist. The body mist has sweet, fruity and feminine fragrance. When ever I wear my friends and family  always ask me what im wearing because they also love it so much! It is perfect for a low  budget, costing only £8.00. Bargain! Also the packaging is super cute.

My next product is 'Wonder Hand' moisturising hand cream. I am prone to seriously dry hands and this product leaves them feeling so silky and soft. It contains ingredients such as Vitamin E, Shea butter and Aloe. My hands are always left feeling silky and beautifully scented. Once again I also love the packaging and I don't think I'm ever going to be able to throw away the box. The hand cream is priced at £5.50

My final Zoella product is 'Scrubbing me softly' body scrub. It is fresh and fruity scented which is the perfect pick me up smell. It is perfect for dry and dead skin and leaves you feeling as soft as a baby's bottom. Who doesn't want that? Scrubbing me softly costs £7.00.
My next product is my Virgin Vie stay calm protective skin cocoon protective day cream. I discovered this earlier this year rooting at the back of my cupboard. My mum must of put it there and forgot about it. Since then I have been using it everyday and it is still going strong. It leaves my face feeling soft and soothed and protects it from skin aggressors. I've been trying to find out where you can buy it without much luck. However I did discover an old daily mirror report that said it costs £14. If any of you can find it please leave a link in the comments as I would love to re-purchase this product.

My two next products are from Lush aka the store of all things amazing! The first product is one that I have also been using as part of my daily skin care routine. It is the 'Tea Tree Water' Toner Water. I have been using this everyday after washing my face and before using my Virgin Vie day cream. Tea Tree is perfect for people with oily or spot prone skin (two things in which I don't actually have) However, I do get the occasional spot or oily day where this is perfect. I also find that it just helps to keep my skin glowing and looking healthy. It is also an excellent way to wake yourself up in the morning. This costs £8.50.

My next product you can only buy at Christmas time, however I stock up so I can use it all year round. It is 'Snow Fairy' shower gel. I know that this is a firm favourite for many, including myself. It is my all time favourite shower gel and all round scent. It smells of candyfloss and pear drops and leaves me squeeling whenever I smell it. (no joke). If you haven't all ready tried I highly recommend you do. I would say just check out lush because all their products are incredible.

My next product is the W7 'In the buff' eyeshadow palette. This is my favourite low budget eyeshadow palette. It offer an amazing range of highly pigmented colours. The staying power is like nothing i've ever seen before. It lasts well over 24 hours without any kind of primer. It comes with a free brush. The only thing I vwould of liked is maybe a mirror inside the packaging for on the go touchups. Other than that I can't really fault it. It costs £9.99 from their online store. however it can be bought in other places for less.

My next product is rimmel london's 'Wake me up'  mascara. I use this mascara on my top eyelashes every day. It is perfect for length and definition. It also smells of cucumbers wich is amazing! Once again it is perfect for if you want a good mascara whilst on a low budget. This product costs £7.99 from boots.

My final product is Aussie miracle hair insurance lightweight conditioning spray. I have quite possibly the most knotty hair you will ever find. This conditioner I can actually see working and allows me to easily comb through my hair. My hair always thanks me for using it and is soft and shiny every time. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to change and I am already on my second bottle. This literal miracle product costs £4.49 from superdrug
